The Bear Shaman
An exciting short story by Regina Hruska about a visit from a high-ranking nordic bear shaman.
This short story was written by Regina Hruska after a visit from an eminent bear shaman. During the pandemic, the visit of the bear shaman honored the shamanic centre “Licht aus der Jurte – Shamanic Centre Vienna”.
This story is about the shamanic traditions of a living, active Bear clan. The story describes bears – cults and rituals that have retained their validity to this day. In the days of the ancient bear clans, humans spoke to the bears and it was taken for granted that there was a balance and a world beyond the material world. Relationships with bears, with all animals, were respectful and based on an appreciation of the interactions between all beings. This worship was expressed in the bear clan through various rituals and ceremonies. Some shamanic communities struggle to maintain this attitude to this day, despite ecosystem collapse and climate destabilization.
We have been given a sacred place here, the place where the shamanic centers are, this is where these teachings are continued. This place was blessed again by the visit of the bear shaman. Regina Hruska writes about ancient shamanic practices and beliefs. There are many worlds in this shamanic tale, and it shows the possibility of reconnecting with the creative forces.
